Of course there were much more single-game emulators released in the last months. Most of them are not not featured here, because one of the multi-game emulators "took over" and made those emulators obsolete...
But please don't forget, all those emulators provided important and valuable information for the development of new and existing emulators!

Featured here are those single-game emulators that are either approx. 100% perfect or that are unique (those that emulate a game not featured in one of the multi-game emulators).

 Annoid - the Arkanoid Emulator

Arkanoid

Programmed by:
Brian Peek

Download the latest version v1.1 [21. February 1998]

Arkanoid is a very simple, yet brilliant game. All you have to do is to remove some rows of bricks with the help of a small ball. Occasionally some pills are revealed after destroying a brick which can be picked up for various effects for your paddle.

Annoid is a Windows95 emulator, so you need DirectX 5.0 to play! The emulation seems to be perfect and the gameplay is smooth on my P100, great job Brian! You can play with the keyboard or the mouse, I highly recommend mouse control. One thing though: Annoid doesn't start on my computer when the screen-display has more then 256 colors. This might be a DirectX-related thing, though.

 Asteroids

Programmed by:
Chris Pile

Web site:

Download the latest version v3.02 or get the source-code [03. January 1998]

Ahhhh...Asteroids....what can I say about this great game?

Just one thing: Awesome game! I know that the graphics are crappy compared to the standard nowadays but who cares if the game itself is much better than 90% of the games realesed this year...

This is the final version of the emulator. It has highscore-save, user-definable keys and is really faaaaassssstttt :-) Sound is provided by the use of the MAME-samples!

 Black Tiger

Black Tiger

Programmed by:
Ishmair

Web site:

Download the latest version v0.31 [17. June 1997]

Black Tiger is one of my all time favorite Arcade-games! Just download and try this masterpiece. The emulator is great and features accurate colors, fast gameplay and music support.

Boo - an emulator for 'Ghouls and Ghosts'

Ghouls and Ghosts

Programmed by:
Andy Clark

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v1.0 [04. June 1998]

Boo is a Windows95 emulator which runs Capcoms 'Ghouls and Ghosts', the stunning sequel to 'Ghosts'n'Goblins'! The emulation is in beta stages and has no joystick and dip-switches support yet! The good news is that sound is supported. Bad news: Boo runs very slow on my P100. Since Ghouls and Ghosts is a System One game from Capcom, I bet Boo will add more CPS1 games later.

For other emulations of 'Ghouls and Ghosts', try the latest versions of Callus (recommended!) and MAME.

 City Connection

Programmed by:
Joseba Epalza

Web site:
No Homepage

Download the latest version v2.4 [27. August 1997]

Joseba (the man responsible for the great Mr. Do! emulator series) strikes again with a new emulator.

Paint all the tracks with your car, collect the cans, shoot the policecars and avoid the cat...sounds simple and easy, doesn't it? Download, see for yourself and you might get addicted :-)

The emulator runs quite fine, the latest update adds sound, fixes the background and the scores!

MAME v0.31 added perfect support for this game, so take a look!

 Cloak and Dagger

Cloak and Dagger

Programmed by:
Daniel Boris

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v0.60 [02. September 1997]

Unfortunately I never heard of this game before...so I copied Daniel's introduction:

Cloak and Dagger was a somewhat obscure arcade game put out Atari in 1983. It was orginially released under the title Agent X, but was re-named to tie it in with the movie "Cloak and Dagger" which features the game supposidly being played on a 5200. The game that you see in the movie is the arcade game wired up to a TV so it looks like it was running on the 5200. The 5200 version was started, but never finished so there are no home versions of Cloak and Dagger.

The current version of the emulator is very close to perfect, with sound support, mostly correct colors, and hi-score saving. You will need a pretty fast machine to run it at full speed with the sound (Sound Blaster or compatible), something better then a P133.

 Dig Dug 2

Dig Dug 2

Programmed by:
JROK

Web site:

Download the latest version v1.0 [21. July 1997]

I never saw Dig Dug 2 in the arcades and was very surprised when JROK released this emulator...Although I am a big fan of the original Dig Dug, I am not sure what to make of this game...
I suggest that you take a look for yourself...

The emulation is 100% perfect with smooth gameplay and of course with support for music and joysticks!

DTMNT - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Programmed by:
Dave

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v0.55 beta [07. December 1998] or the pentium optimized version v0.54 [14. November 1998]

This is a new singlegame emulator for Konami's 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'. It is much faster then the other singlegame emu and the MAME version. It has sound and music but no speech yet.

Escuela de Combate - "Combat School" Emulator

Combat School

Programmed by:
Jose Tejada Gomez

Web site:
No Homepage

Download the latest version v0.1 [27. October 1998]

This new singlegame emulator for Combat School runs under Windows 9x and is supposed to have joystick support. The documentation is in spanish and italian so I can't list all features yet.

 Gaplus

Gaplus

Programmed by:
JROK

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v1.4 [22. November 1997]

JROK released again a great 100% emulator!

An emulator for Gaplus, the stunning sequel of Galaga, has been on the wish-list of many arcadegame-fans for quite a long time...but now, thanks to JROK, this classic is finally playable.

As usual with JROK's releases, the emulation is great, the gameplay is smooth, music and joysticks are supported!!

What are you waiting for?

 Grytra - the Gryzor/Contra emulator

Gryzor/Contra

Programmed by:
José Tejada Gómez

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v0.2 [15. June 1998]

Jose Tejada Gomez, the author of the multi-game emulator Mapefer, strikes again with this new emulator for Gryzor (or Contra)!

The emulator now looks nearly finished. The colors seem to be 100% accurate and it's really fast on my P100! There doesn't seem to be any sound or music. The supported documentation is in spanish so I can't tell you exactly which bugs are still present (if any ;)

 I, Robot

I, Robot

Programmed by:
John Manfreda

Web site:

Download the latest version v0.98 [22. June 1998]

Finally one of my favorite games from the early 80's is emulated: I, Robot by Atari (1983)! I, Robot is a very spectacular game with very unique 3D graphics and gameplay! The game is very addicting, so what are you waiting for ? :-))

The emulator is quite perfect, the only things missing are sound and joystick support! Please note that DirectX v3.0 is needed!

 Ikari Warriors

Ikari Warriors

Programmed by:
Janne Korpela

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v0.49b [22. August 1997]

Janne strikes back with his third single-game emulator. His first was for the game Tutankham which isn't featured here, because I think the MAME-version is quite fine. His second is YEM (Yie Ar Kung-Fu) which can be found further down this page.

Ikari Warriors is a nice vertically scrolling shooter. If you like these games, be sure to take a look at MAME, which emulates Commando (and more then 250 games, too!) :-)

Two players can play by using the keyboard and the highscores are saved. IWEM features sound - you need OPL2 or OPL3 chips on your soundcard to hear it, though.

I may remove this single-game emulator soon, because Janne wrote a multi-game emulator called RAGE that doesn't only support Ikari Warriors but other great games, too.

 Major Havoc

Programmed by:
Neil Bradley

Web site:
No Homepage

Download the latest version v1.0 [06. Dezember 1997]

Neil Bradley, the author of EMU and Retrocade, strikes back was the release of a Major Havoc emulator. Major Havoc is a vectorgame that was released by Atari in 1983.

The emulator features: highscore saving, joystick support, PAUSE button stops game and full sound!

 Mappy

Mappy

Programmed by:
JROK

Web site:
Homepage

Download the latest version v1.0 [21. July 1997]

Mappy is a real simple but highly addictive game...One of the best examples that you don't need hundreds of megabytes for a great game!
All you have to do is run through the house and collect everything that lies around. Use the doors and the trampolines to avoid the enemies...

The emulation is 100% perfect with smooth gameplay and of course with support for music and joysticks!

 Marble Madness

Marble Madness

Programmed by:
Peter Hirschberg

Web site:
No Homepage

Download the latest version v0.2beta [13. September 1998]

Peter Hirschberg (author of Vector Dream and part of the Retrocade team) releases an emulator for Atari's classic game Marble Madness. I bet I don't have to tell you about this great game, just grab the emulator and see for yourself!

It is a quite fast Win95/98 based emulator and doesn't feature sound and music and there is no joystick or mouse support yet!
