- Another day, another ClrMAME release! ;-) Roman Scherzer released ClrMAME Pro beta 3c and this is what he has got to say about the new version: "It seems that you don't like the new zipscanner...because you realize you have many zipfiles which aren't 100% correct. Well...To avoid more confusion I removed some of the new checks. If you now get a bad-central-directory error something really bad happend. (like the archive doesn't have a central directory, etc...). I enabled the internal zip32.dll repair routines, too. Most of the 'old' bad-central-directory' errors were caused by wrong date/timestamp entries. The reason to add the new zipscanner was that zip32.dll can produce errors when trying to do some zipaction on a 'corrupt' file....
By the way: You can re-activate the advanced zipscanner in the pulldownmenu." - Gridle added some more MAME WIP news to the official MAME WIP page!

If this is a problem, the default key settings can now be changed in the setup menu. [Aaron Giles]
- Cleaned up the frontend dialog, sped up sorting significantly, and changed to scan for ROMs during the warning dialog instead of after you hit 'OK'. [Aaron Giles]
- Added new option for specially sorting "The" at the beginning of a descriptive game name. [Brad Oliver]
- Added separate 68010 core for games that use 68010-specific features. [Aaron Giles]
- Extensively reworked the core event handling and program flow code; it's more readable, but there may be some bugs lurking. [Aaron Giles]
- Also, details of a bug in the CW Pro 5 optimizer are in the 0.36b1 source archive, in the file "Build Issues". The bug is reproducible and has been submitted to Metrowerks.
- Some more great news for all Mac users: JoseQ reports in his Rumor Mill today that a Mac port of Raine is in the works! Read the whole newsbit on EmuViews!
